Glaucoma diagnose

To diagnose glaucoma, three exams are required:

  • Measurement of intraocular pressure greater than 21 mm Hg (but in some cases, pressure is normal).
  • Consideration of the disc at the back of the eye. The disc is the beginning of the optic nerve which carries visual information from the retina to the brain.
  • A visual field, which is to determine the number, location and form of loss of vision in a defined area.
